(The purpose of this tract is NOT to tell lost people that God hates them, but rather to tell them that He wants to love them. However, such a relationship is not possible without them becoming His children through Jesus Christ.)
“Now go, write it before them in a table, and note it in a book, that it may be for the time to come for ever and ever: That this is a rebellious people, lying children, children that will not hear the law of the LORD: Which say to the seers, See not; and to the prophets, Prophesy not unto us right things, speak unto us smooth things, prophesy deceits: Get you out of the way, turn aside out of the path, cause the Holy One of Israel to cease from before us.” (Isa. 30:8-11)
Like the Israelites in the above scripture, most people today only want to hear “smooth things” which are pleasing to the ear. The truth is fallen in the street (Isa. 59:14), while lies are promoted. How do crooked politicians win elections? By lying with SMOOTH WORDS! Satan’s first word in Genesis was POSITIVE (Gen. 3:1), so it remains true today that Satan has a POSITIVE message.
How many times have you heard the statement “God loves you” or “God loves everyone” or perhaps “Smile, God loves you?” A great many, right? Now, how many times have you went to God’s word and found confirmation for such statements? Are you sure the Bible says this, or have you just been taught this without scriptural proof?
Someone says, “This is silly. John 3:16 says that God loves the WHOLE WORLD!” No it doesn’t. John 3:16 says that God so LOVED the world (past tense) that He gave His only begotten Son. When the New Testament speaks of God’s love, it either speaks of His love for sinners in the PAST TENSE, or His love for Christians in the PRESENT TENSE. The New Testament does not say that God loves Christ rejecting sinners today.
You say, “But my preacher said that God loves everyone.” Does the Bible say this? Can you find it? The Bible clearly states that God loves some people while He hates others. If your preacher hasn’t told you this, then you should have a talk with him and ask him to consider God’s word:
Psalm 5:5: “The foolish shall not stand in thy sight: thou hatest all workers of iniquity.” Does this say that God loves workers of iniquity?
Psalm 11:5: “The LORD trieth the righteous: but the wicked and him that loveth violence his soul hateth.”
Did he say, “Smile, God loves you?”
Proverbs 8:13: “The fear of the LORD is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate.”
Proverbs 6:16-19: “These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.”
Revelation 3:19: “As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.” Is this not a clear indication that God only loves certain people? He said, “as many as I love” not “I love everyone.”
Friend, if you have not received the Lord Jesus Christ as your Saviour, then please understand that your position before God is not that of a child whom the Father loves! You are a TARGET of God’s WRATH! John 3:36 says, “He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.”
Psalm 7:11-12: “God judgeth the righteous, and God is angry with the wicked every day. If he turn not, he will whet his sword; he hath bent his bow, and made it ready.”
Everyone loves John 3:16, but consider John 3:18: “He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.”
Friend, don’t fall for Satan’s lie! At Calvary, God loved you so much that He gave His only begotten Son for you, but you cannot enter into a love relationship with God until you come to Him through His Son Jesus Christ. Being a human being doesn’t entitle you to God’s love. You must be a CHILD OF GOD. Jesus said, “Ye must be born again.” (John 3:3)
Romans 8:39 tells us WHERE to find God’s love: “...the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” God’s love is IN JESUS CHRIST.
Perhaps you’re reading this and thinking, “So, what’s the point?” The point is that people are being given a false sense of security, thinking that God wouldn’t send them to hell because He LOVES them. In reality, God only loves those who are HIS. If you have not been born again, then you are still in your sins, and you are the object of God’s WRATH, not His love.
Friend, don't allow yourself to be led astray by believing the biggest lie ever told. You can only experience God’s love through His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. If you've never received Jesus Christ as your Saviour, we urge you to do so right now. Turn from your sins and trust Christ alone to save you. God WANTS to love you! God INVITES you to come and be His own child!
Isaiah 1:18 says, "Come now, let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool." All men are sinners and need to be cleansed from sin (Rom. 3:23), and that cleansing can only come through the precious Blood of the Lord Jesus Christ (Rev. 1:5; Col. 1:14).
Consider Ephesians 2:8-9: "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast." Your only way to Heaven is through the finished work of the Lord Jesus Christ. Repent of your sins (Luke 13:3) and trust Jesus Christ alone. Claim His promises and trust Him to save you while there's still time. Romans 10:13 says, "Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." Romans 10:9 says, "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." Why not turn to Him right now? Tomorrow could be too late.
If you have been saved, find a good Bible-believing church and speak with the Pastor about baptism, membership, and how you can start serving God.
